Hello! My name is Kim Hiatt, and I am a Limited Licensed Psychologist. Change is hard. It takes practice and is a process. My role as a therapist is assisting those who want to make changes. I walk with them through this journey and, through a strong therapeutic relationship, I help empower them along the way to utilize skills they already possess as well as develop new skills. Although I primarily utilize a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-based approach to treatment, I believe in meeting clients where they are and base my approach on their needs and identified goals.
I have more than 17 years of experience as a therapist working with adolescents and adults in a variety of different settings, including outpatient therapy, community mental health, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization for adolescents and adults, adolescent partial hospitalization and school-based counseling. I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults and adults. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, adjustment/transitional issues, self-harm, suicidal ideation, teen issues, relationship issues and women’s issues.
When I am not working, I can be found being a mom to my three daughters and spending time with my husband and two dogs. I love to spend down time reading. If it is warm outside my family can be found outdoors in nature, at the beach or a lake. We love to be outside soaking up the sun and near the water. Life is about balance, which for me includes working, connecting with family and friends, and taking care of myself through activities I enjoy.
